“Reflection” | “SIMPLE MOMENTS” 2/3 - CHAPTER III
“Reflection” A selection of ten pictures using my first analog camera #canonae1 while walking between Strasbourg and Prague (2016 - 2017) | From the series “Simple Moments” 2/3 - Chapter III Some of those old photographs are for me like my “madeleine de proust” for example, that first picture, which is one of my personal favourite, was taken in Strasbourg back in 2016 when my architect friend welcomed me at his place to have an evening around a beer like in the good old times. I remember waking up on the sofa, a bit hungover, my friend opening the window and couple minutes later, that girl just appeared from nowhere, probably stayed a moment which gave me the time to find my camera but while doing it I heard a van parking which in my overthinking head was traduced by “the van parked, the girl moved, photograph is fucked” but when I finally got back in the living room, she was still here and the van was barely on the way and the postman was just on his way back to it. I compose with the idea to see her twice on the picture, I get closer to the window and the feeling is weird as the flat is barely upper the level of the street so you have this feeling that people are almost inside the flat. I’m ready, I shoot and I usually black out for a second while shooting, I just feel the moment. Then life just continues, actually ten years pass and more than to find back that picture, I found some souvenirs and most important I found back a real friendship and couple days ago I was in France having some beers together with my camera not so far from my hand. For the ones who likes details, you could now ask me « Did I saw the face of that girl ? » and the answer is never, everything happened so fast and it’s also what makes that photographs so special. She could be anyone, like you, like me.
